3 day Parisian getaway

Stone Cold Fox

I definitely just made one of the best discoveries which has made me unbelievably excited. Through lookbook I discovered the brand: Stone Cold Fox. A clothing company which is run by to California babes called Cydney Morris (graduate from California College of the Arts) and Dallas Wand (graduate from FIDM). The have a remarkable way of giving an authentic and vintage feel to their stunning clothes. After going through their different lookbooks, I've decided there isn't really anything I wouldn't want in my closet. Stone Cold Fox is definitely my newest crush. I also believe I just have a natural adoration for any brand that uses the word Fox since Wildfox is my number one addiction.

Anyone willing to buy me a plane ticket back to Rio de Janeiro? Brazil kind of stole my heart and I was thrilled to be able to wear my summer clothing in November. The current cold here in Europe is insane.
I applaud the Brazilian women for their cooky and beautiful clothing styles; colorful maxi's, gorgeous hand made leather bags (for normal prices!) and I also respect them for being such unbelievably confident women. I can't really name any other country in the world where women walk around in teeny weeny thong bikini's, can you?

In these dark winter days, I sometimes have to make an effort to step away from the black and focus on some lighter colours. Today this was beige. To have my nails in theme I chose to paint them in the it-colour of the season 'mannequin' and to spice it up with some prints. On my left hand I have the birth year of my grandmother and on the right hand I have "Amor", and on my thumb nail a small heart with arrow.

I think I'm in trouble. Asos.com just start selling River Island. Which means I don't have to travel to Rotterdam or Amsterdam to feed my RI addiction. 

They're actually selling the shoes I bought there some time ago, suede and snake skin wedge booties, I'm still in love:

 Elke and I, we are real True Blood fans. We've seen every episode thus far. 

Sooooooooooooookieeeeh. Yes, we are obsessed much. Thus I came up with the idea to design a line that is inspired by vampires. I've always been intrigued with fashion that is leaning towards goth while still remaining classy and stylish.

In my designs I use materials that vary from lace, fur, velvet and leather. Also some spike details in the accessories.

Classic

Already some time ago, I had a photo shoot with one of my favourite photographers Ad Vlemmix. I like shooting with him because he totally accepts my own input during a shoot. He has a huge basement full of amazing clothes, but I mostly always use items from my own wardrobe. 

This time I wanted to return to a more classic, old fashioned style. Velvet one shoulder dress, simple Swarovki bracelet, velvet pumps, boudoir corsets, pin up style make up, hair rollers etc. 

To make the shoot more authentic and to add a little personal touch to it, I used props that actaully belonged to my grandmother who is now 94 year old but used to be a beautiful woman. I wanted to create a fifties style vanity mirror set. I even sneaked in a photo of when my grandmother was younger (54 years and she still looked amazing). The brush set and the mirror were hers.

I was very grateful for the help of my besty Elke. She styled my hair and took care of many of the finishing touches.

Alexander Wang

I adore leopard print. It's probably one of the most reoccuring things in my closet. I was obsessed with getting a leopard faux fur winter coat but since nice ones are incapable of being found here I've decided to stick to leopard printed bags. My ideal one being the stunning leopard printed Diego bucket bag by Alexander Wang....a girl can always dream.

L'amour fou

Today I went to see the documentary Yves Saint Laurent, L'amour fou in the cinema. It was truly inspiring. Especially the beginning, the speech YSL did when he resigned as a fashion designer. Every sentence was poetic in my honest opinion. Most of all I loved all the gorgeous black and white shots.

I was feeling nostalgic about wearing jeans shorts without tights. On Sint Maarten that was my uniform. I like wearing my make up in a classic style. Spicing the outfit up with some big jewellery.
